Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer to manage end‑to‑end payroll processing and vendor payments for our Nyeri office. The role works closely with HR, Finance and external suppliers to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full payroll cycle, maintain records, ensure statutory deductions, tax compliance and respond to employee queries.
• Receive, validate and process supplier invoices, run weekly/monthly payment cycles and handle local and international vendor payments, including foreign‑currency transactions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, prepare accruals, journal entries and perform payroll and vendor reconciliations.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation and maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, payroll regulations and IFRS.
• Identify and implement process improvements, collaborate with HR, Procurement, Operations and Finance to streamline workflows.

Required profile

• University or college degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable, preferably with international payments.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
