People & Culture Business Partner (HR Generalist)

About the role

Safety Surveyors Limited is expanding its People & Culture function to support sustainable growth. The People & Culture Business Partner will act as the day‑to‑day HR generalist, working closely with the Operations Director, HR Consultant and line managers to ensure HR practices are consistent, compliant and aligned with operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with managers to understand business priorities, provide HR guidance, and support staffing, role clarity and team effectiveness.
• Coordinate the full employee lifecycle – recruitment, onboarding, probation, contract renewals, internal moves and off‑boarding – while maintaining accurate HR records and calendars.
• Manage performance cycles, training needs analysis, career development and succession planning initiatives.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee concerns, guide grievance and disciplinary processes, and drive engagement, wellbeing and culture‑building activities.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment law, implement HR policies, conduct audits and protect employee data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or related field; IHRM membership preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive HR generalist experience, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management and HR operations.
• Practical knowledge of Kenyan labour law and experience maintaining compliant documentation.
• Experience in a growing SME or professional services environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience using HR information systems and managing people data.
