About the role
South B Hospital in Westlands, Nairobi, is looking for a qualified, competent and motivated Pharmaceutical Technologist to join its pharmacy team.
Key responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and give patients clear instructions on how to use them.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, dispensing and pharmaceutical transactions.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, storage conditions and stock movement.
- Take part in stocktaking, ordering, receiving and proper storage of medicines and medical supplies.
- Support pharmacovigilance by reporting suspected adverse drug reactions.
- Keep patient information confidential and keep the pharmacy clean, organised and secure.
Required profile
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and a current practising licence.
- Experience in a hospital or busy outpatient pharmacy is an added advantage.
Required skills
- Good knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management.
- Knowledge of dispensing procedures.
