PhD Expert – Computational Biology (Remote, Task‑Based)

About the role

We are looking for a PhD‑level expert in computational biology to develop and solve research‑grade scientific problems. The role is remote, task‑based and runs for eight weeks, with an expected commitment of eight hours per day and a four‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Key responsibilities

• Design original, graduate‑level scientific problems using Python for scientific coding.
• Define problem categories, secondary tags, and assign difficulty levels.
• Solve the problems applying rigorous scientific and computational principles.
• Participate in two‑tier reviews to assess accuracy and quality of problems and solutions.
• Collaborate with reviewers and team leads to refine content and improve overall quality.
• Contribute to the creation of challenging computational biology problems and their solutions.

Required profile

• PhD or PhD candidate in Computational Biology.
• At least one peer‑reviewed publication.
• Strong analytical, logical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active LinkedIn profile.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Python programming for scientific coding.
