Physics Expert – Remote, $450 per Task

About the role

We are looking for a Physics Expert to join our remote research team on a short‑term contract. You will design and solve advanced physics problems that are used to evaluate large language models, providing clear, step‑by‑step solutions and detailed reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Design challenging physics problems covering undergraduate to PhD level for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, structured solutions with thorough explanations and visual aids.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop and refine evaluation benchmarks.
• Define new benchmark tasks that test reasoning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Analyze complex physics scenarios using logical, systematic approaches.
• Communicate physics concepts in simple language for diverse audiences.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a remote work environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: QuTiP, OQuPy, QuSpin, TenPy, Strawberry Fields, openEMS, ngspice, Quantum ESPRESSO, OpenFOAM, FEniCS/FEniCSx, WarpX, REBOUND, PYTHIA, Kwant, Elmer FEM, GF180MCU PDK, Sky130 PDK, FreeCAD, Project Chrono, Scilab Xcos, volare, emcee, Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, gmsh, pyarmadillo, MeshLab.
