Policy and Advocacy Officer

About the role

The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) is recruiting a Policy and Advocacy Officer to manage its policy and advocacy department. The post is based in Nairobi (Westlands) and is open to dynamic and motivated candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the EAFF policy and advocacy master plan
• Build the capacity of member organizations in policy and advocacy
• Implement programs and projects related to policy and advocacy
• Represent EAFF at regional, continental and international policy events
• Contribute to fundraising through new projects and programs
• Perform other activities assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in policy analysis, advocacy and policy-related program management
• Strong understanding of agricultural policy frameworks and farmer organization dynamics
• Experience working with government institutions and multi-stakeholder platforms
• Proven ability to write high-quality policy briefs and reports
• Master's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science or a related field
• Preference for candidates with NGO experience
