Portfolio Management Consultant

About the role

FINCA International’s Poverty Eradication Lab (PEL) is seeking a Portfolio Management Consultant to own a set of innovation pilots from intake through scale recommendation. You will be the single accountable owner for each pilot, ensuring the product vision, business case, and customer impact are clearly defined and delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned pilots end‑to‑end, from intake, design, execution to scale decision.
• Define the customer and operational problem, translate it into a hypothesis, success metrics, and an execution plan.
• Maintain real‑time visibility over pilot progress, risks, dependencies, and funding, escalating bottlenecks as needed.
• Prepare decision‑ready materials (concept notes, pilot plans, scale recommendations) for leadership review.
• Co‑create a learning agenda with the Human‑Centered Design & Research team and document all learnings at pilot completion.
• Own the product vision and business case, ensuring alignment with impact and commercial viability criteria.

Required profile

• Proven ability to own complex projects or pilots through all lifecycle stages.
• Strong analytical mindset to define hypotheses, metrics, and evaluate outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing concise decision materials and stakeholder updates.
• Experience working in innovation, product development, or impact‑focused environments.
