PPSO Specialist

About the role

The PPSO Specialist will support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia, providing personal property support services to military personnel, civilian employees, and their dependents. This role ensures timely movement, storage, and handling of personal property and Unaccompanied Baggage while maintaining compliance with DoD regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment and receipt of personal property items, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist customers with documentation for relocation or storage of personal property and UB.
• Utilize data systems to input, track, and update shipment status accurately.
• Schedule transportation and storage services in line with government and DoD guidelines.
• Conduct quality inspections of packing, handling, and storage operations.
• Collaborate with transportation providers to resolve shipment claims, delays, or damages.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle classified information with strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in personal property shipping, logistics, or transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to obtain required visas, pass medical requirements, and maintain facility credentials.
• Strong organizational and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data entry and shipment tracking systems.
• Familiarity with Defense Personal Property System (DPS) or similar DoD shipping tools.
• Knowledge of DoD shipping and storage procedures.
