Prequalification of Vendors Consultant

About the role

The Prequalification Consultant will work closely with HIAS Kenya’s Procurement Unit to coordinate, evaluate and report on vendor pre‑qualification documents for goods and services. The role ensures transparency, fairness and compliance with HIAS policies throughout the pre‑qualification and contracting process.

Key responsibilities

• Review pre‑qualification documents according to HIAS product/service categories and reconcile them with payments received.
• Supervise opening of tender documents, set deadlines, mark received applications and evaluate them against defined criteria.
• Conduct physical or phone verification of vendors that meet the pre‑qualification criteria.
• Prepare a technical pre‑qualification report and create a vendor database containing name, address, contact details and product/service category.
• Provide recommendations to address gaps in vendor categories and facilitate contract signing with successfully pre‑qualified vendors.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in supply chain management or procurement, with relevant qualifications.
• Experience in vendor evaluation, database creation and contract facilitation.
• Ability to work within a six‑week timeframe and deliver comprehensive reports.
