Principal Analyst, Cyber Security Infrastructure

About the role

The Central Bank of Kenya is seeking a Principal Analyst to lead its Cyber Security Infrastructure function. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining robust security controls, ensuring high availability of security tools, and supporting the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement cybersecurity policies, baselines, standards and processes to improve the bank’s security posture.
• Maintain cyber security tools and services with a target uptime of 99.999%.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and remediation of Level 2/3 incidents affecting security operations.
• Perform deployments, upgrades, maintenance, incident management and change management for security solutions.
• Support audit activities and ensure remediation of findings.
• Run patching and vulnerability management programs and report on metrics, KPIs, SLAs and OLAs.
• Mentor junior staff and provide support to internal teams and partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience with information security technologies and controls such as IDS, firewalls, VPNs, content filters, security scanning tools, antivirus, encryption, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Relevant certifications – e.g., Cisco CCNP Security, CCIE Security, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, CISSP, CHFI, CISM, CISA, OSCP or CEH. Project‑management certification is a plus.
