Private Chef

About the role

Our client, a leading oil and gas company, is seeking a Private Chef to manage the dietary needs of the residents at their primary residence in Nairobi. The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting meals that meet health, cultural and personal preferences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals in line with the household budget, monitor food costs and supervise supplies.
• Maintain kitchen safety and sanitation practices, adhering to food‑handling and environmental standards.
• Develop new recipes and cooking methods to meet client preferences.
• Ensure timely preparation and service of meals, including private dinner parties.
• Align menus with health, cultural and dietary requirements of the residents.
• Foster respectful relationships with household staff and residents.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or catering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in a busy professional kitchen.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Effective budgeting and cost‑saving practices.
• Ability to multitask, manage time and work late hours for private events.
• Creative and proactive approach to meeting client needs.
• Working knowledge of French cuisine and dietary information.
• Respectable knowledge of food‑handling and environmental sanitation standards.
