Procurement Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical

About the role

Master Power Systems Limited is seeking a full‑time Procurement Engineer to join its Nairobi office. The role focuses on managing end‑to‑end procurement activities for electrical and mechanical engineering and MEP projects, ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Identify project requirements and prepare detailed Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
• Evaluate supplier offers, assess technical capability, reliability, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Issue and track purchase orders, monitor delivery timelines, and coordinate with logistics.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate terms to optimise cost without compromising quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and budgets.
• Continuously improve procurement processes and monitor vendor performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in procurement for construction, MEP, or electrical engineering projects.
• Strong supplier evaluation skills, including assessment of technical capability and compliance.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities to interpret data, prepare reports, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Ability to work on‑site in Nairobi, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP procurement systems.
• Advanced use of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
