Sales Director – Kenya Market (Building Materials)

About the role

Oriental Yuhong is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead the development and expansion of its building‑materials business in Kenya. You will be fully responsible for business development, sales strategy, team building and brand promotion within the Kenyan market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement long‑term sales strategies, annual business plans and budgets for Kenya, ensuring sales targets are met.
• Conduct in‑depth market research and analysis of competitors, industry trends and customer needs.
• Lead the acquisition and management of key accounts, including distributors, major contractors, developers and government projects.
• Recruit, motivate and develop a high‑performing local sales team.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies, industry associations and strategic partners.
• Negotiate and sign sales contracts, oversee project execution, payment collection and after‑sales service.
• Coordinate internal resources (technical, marketing, supply‑chain) to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, seminars and other events to boost brand visibility.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the building‑materials sector, with at least 3 years in a Country or Regional Sales Director role.
• Proven track record in the Kenyan or East‑African market is highly preferred.
• Established network and project resources within the Kenyan construction industry.
• Strong strategic planning, market analysis, negotiation and leadership decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent team‑management and cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in Swahili or Chinese is a significant advantage.
• Results‑oriented, self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and willing to travel frequently.
