Procurement & Inventory Officer

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Procurement & Inventory Officer in Nairobi for its healthcare and pharmaceutical retail business. The role covers sourcing and purchasing of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing procurement data in the ERP system and keeping compliance with company policies and pharmaceutical regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and procure pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and other operational materials according to company policy, comparing supplier quotations and preparing purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, run regular stock counts and reconciliations, and coordinate stock replenishment to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products and document goods received, issued and transferred.
• Update procurement and inventory transactions in the ERP system and generate inventory and procurement reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and pharmaceutical regulations, assist internal and external audits, and prepare periodic reports.
• Work with warehouse, finance and other departments to improve supply chain efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or KISM is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, accuracy and attention to detail.
