Procurement Manager

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function. The role involves developing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with policies while driving cost efficiencies and supporting operational continuity.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the procurement team to ensure effective execution of activities.
- Oversee the full procurement cycle: requisition review, sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, purchasing, and delivery follow‑up.
- Collaborate with department heads to create annual and periodic procurement plans.
- Review and approve procurement requests, quotations, supplier recommendations, and purchase orders within delegated authority.
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, payment terms, and contractual agreements with suppliers.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and monitor their performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, budgetary controls, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Manage inventory replenishment strategies to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Monitor procurement risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, expenditure analyses, and savings reports.
- Coordinate procurement audits and maintain accurate records.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS or active membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
- Minimum five years of relevant procurement experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement planning.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance, inventory management, and related regulations.
