Procurement Officer

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is hiring a full-time Procurement Officer in the oil and gas sector. The role ensures efficient, transparent and cost-effective procurement of goods and services by coordinating purchasing, managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement sourcing based on consolidated procurement plans and ensure high-quality supplies for the company.
• Source suppliers, maintain the supplier database and carry out supplier reviews.
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to support better procurement decisions.
• Manage tenders and RFQs and conduct comparative bid analysis.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels.
• Manage supplier relationships and lead contract negotiations for favourable terms.
• Coordinate and consolidate procurement requirements across the company to improve purchase planning and forecasting.
• Assess supplier performance periodically.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement or a related field; CIPS/CPSP certification.
• Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in procurement, supply chain or logistics in the oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience in sourcing, vendor evaluation, contract management and inventory coordination, preferably in multi-site operations such as depots, retail stations or distribution networks.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools, and strong analytical skills in spend analysis, reporting and cost optimisation.
• Professional and ethical, good communication skills, reliable, organised, detail-oriented and trustworthy with sensitive information.
