Procurement Officer

About the role

Kisii National Polytechnic is recruiting a Procurement Officer. The officer provides leadership on procurement matters for the polytechnic, coordinating the procurement and disposal process, acting as secretary to the asset and disposal committee and advising the Chief Principal on procurement in line with the institution's policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and formulate the polytechnic's procurement plan
• Supervise inventory and stock control
• Manage the disposal of stored stores and equipment
• Plan supply chain management activities
• Coordinate warehousing, market surveys and research
• Coordinate procurement processes
• Prepare management and statutory reports

Required profile

• Served as Procurement Officer (CSG 11) or in an equivalent public service or private sector position, with at least three years' experience in a comparable institution or wider public service
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• Completed a Senior Management Course of at least three weeks from a recognised institution
• Active member of KISM in good standing
• Certificate in computer application skills
• Merit, integrity and ability shown through work performance and results
