Production Operator - Smartphone Assembly

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting a skilled Production Operator in Nairobi on behalf of its client. The operator works on an assembly line assembling smartphones, feeding raw materials into machines, making minor repairs, replacing parts and testing finished goods against quality control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble smartphones on the assembly line according to drawings, instructions or schematics.
• Load product pieces onto the line and pack assembled products into boxes for storage.
• Inspect finished goods and troubleshoot faults or defects found during production.
• Report incidents, faulty operations or product imperfections to the supervisor.
• Maintain equipment in good and safe working condition and keep the work area clean, safe and organised.
• Follow safety and efficiency procedures, report unsafe operations immediately and contribute to waste management and 6S Kaizen principles.
• Work under the guidance of a supervisor to complete duties on time.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification; electrical and electronics engineering knowledge is an added advantage.
• At least 6 months to 1 year of experience, with assembly line experience an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of 6S Kaizen principles and understanding of production machinery and assembly procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
• Fast learner able to work under pressure, with good stamina to lift heavy pieces and stand for long periods.
• Team player with excellent time management, work ethic and integrity.
