Production Team Leader - Confectionery

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management solutions firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting on behalf of its client a Production Team Leader for a confectionery department in Thika, Kenya. The team leader leads cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, eliminate waste and improve efficiency by improving the flow of materials and information.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily production operations in the confectionery department, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety standards are met.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures so products meet company standards and regulatory requirements such as food safety and labeling.
• Coordinate production schedules, material requirements and labor allocation to meet production targets.
• Train production staff on new products, processes and equipment to ensure efficient production and minimize errors.
• Resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions and quality problems in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing industries.
• At least 3 years of experience in a beverage production environment is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of beverage production processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with food safety and quality control systems such as HACCP and ISO 22000.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
