Professional Driver – Full‑Time

About the role

The Polytechnic is seeking a reliable driver to transport passengers, goods and materials safely and on schedule. This full‑time position requires adherence to traffic regulations and a commitment to vehicle upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicles safely, complying with all traffic laws.
• Transport passengers, cargo or materials to designated locations punctually.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks (fuel, oil, tyre pressure, brakes, coolant).
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage and fuel consumption records.
• Plan efficient routes and adjust for traffic conditions.
• Load and unload goods safely when required.
• Assist passengers with boarding, luggage and special needs.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents or emergencies promptly.

Required profile

• KCSE mean grade D (Plain) or equivalent.
• Valid Kenyan driving licence for the relevant vehicle class (B3, C1, D1, D2, D3) with no endorsements.
• Occupational Trade Test Grade III (or higher) for drivers.
• Defensive Driving Certificate.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one‑week training – preferred).
• At least three years of driving experience with a clean record.
• Experience in a public institution or corporate environment is an advantage.
• Basic mechanical and automotive knowledge is a plus.

What we offer

• Basic salary of KSH 14,610 per month.
