Professor of Computer Systems (Full‑Time)

About the role

Responsible for teaching and supervising students, conducting research, publishing scholarly work, and contributing to academic and departmental activities. The position is based in Konza City and duties are performed on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations and linkages nationally, regionally and internationally.
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies.
• Develop innovative approaches to course design and ensure compliance with quality frameworks and regulations.
• Identify learning needs, design outcomes, assess activities and provide feedback to students.
• Supervise theses, dissertations, internships and attachments, and mentor academic staff and students.
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and collaborate with industry for technology transfer and commercialization.

Required profile

• Earned PhD in a relevant field from a recognized university.
• At least five years teaching experience as an Associate Professor or nine years research experience.
• Minimum 60 publications, with at least 40 in refereed scholarly journals.
• Supervised at least ten doctoral students to completion and five master’s students.
• Evidence of patents or commercialised innovations (advantage).
• Membership in a professional body and demonstrable knowledge of current ICT.
