Program Officer – AIM Kisii/Kakamega

About the role

The Program Officer will lead the implementation of field‑level activities for the Mastercard Foundation Accelerating Impact for Young Women (AIM) programme in Kisii and Kakamega, Kenya. Reporting to the AIM Branch Manager, the role oversees participant selection, club set‑up, mentor coordination and the delivery of both education and livelihood pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all AIM‑related activities at branch level, ensuring planning, rollout, implementation and tracking according to the operations manual.
• Lead community identification, household surveys, participant selection using the BInsight application and set‑up of AIM clubs.
• Recruit, train and supervise mentors, facilitate youth development clubs (YDC) and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA).
• Ensure accurate data collection, reporting via BInsight and preparation of MIS, financial and donor reports.
• Coordinate with BRAC micro‑finance teams to achieve at least 80% transition of eligible participants to micro‑finance services.
• Oversee distribution of education‑related support, monitor school attendance and manage procurement of assets and inputs.
• Provide safeguarding oversight, reporting any gender‑based violence cases and promoting a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑level programme implementation, preferably in youth empowerment, education or livelihood projects.
• Strong supervisory and coordination skills, with ability to lead staff, volunteers and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data collection tools and reporting systems, such as BInsight.
• Commitment to gender equity and safeguarding principles.
