Programme Manager – Uzazi Salama Programme

About the role

The Programme Manager will provide strategic, technical and managerial leadership for the Uzazi Salama programme, ensuring delivery of high‑quality health interventions across community, facility and digital workstreams. Based in Nairobi, the role requires on‑site coordination with partners, donors and county stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, approval and periodic review of annual and quarterly workplans, implementation priorities and performance targets.
• Oversee programme implementation across community, facility, county health system and digital streams, ensuring alignment with RMNCAH priorities.
• Supervise the Programme Officer and M&E Officer and coordinate with finance and technical functions.
• Coordinate performance and accountability of consortium partners including CHAK, Girl Effect and county structures.
• Manage risk, compliance and quality‑assurance mechanisms, and ensure adherence to grant requirements.
• Serve as primary liaison with M‑PESA Foundation and represent the programme with Kiambu County leadership and the Ministry of Health.
• Guide preparation and review of technical reports, donor reports and other key deliverables.
• Lead transition and sustainability planning, aligning interventions with county plans and budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Public Health, Reproductive Health, Midwifery or a related health discipline; professional registration where applicable.
• 5–7 years progressive experience in RMNCAH, MNCH or related health programmes, with at least 3–5 years in programme management or senior technical leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing donor‑funded health programmes and working with Kenya’s national and county health systems.
• Experience in quality improvement, supportive supervision and multidisciplinary team management.
• High level of initiative, integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision.
