Programme Officer – Digital Futures Kenya

About the role

Sightsavers is seeking a Programme Officer to lead the implementation of the Digital Futures initiative in Kenya. The programme, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, aims to improve access to dignified work for young people with disabilities, with a strong emphasis on young women.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of market‑relevant digital, IT and entrepreneurship training for beneficiaries.
• Manage seed‑funding disbursement and monitor its impact on participants.
• Engage with employers, policymakers and representative organisations to promote inclusive workforce practices.
• Track programme performance against targets, prepare regular reports and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Facilitate community outreach activities to reach additional beneficiaries and raise awareness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in NGO‑based economic empowerment or similar development programmes.
• Strong project implementation and monitoring skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including government, private sector and disability organisations.
• Qualified women and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
