About the role
The Programme Officer – Livelihoods will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of livelihoods and resilience interventions in Tana River County. Reporting to the Area Manager, the role provides technical guidance on agricultural production, climate‑smart practices, village savings and loan associations (VSLAs) and apiculture, while ensuring activities meet donor requirements and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on climate‑smart agriculture, value‑chain development, post‑harvest handling and market linkages.
- Train and mentor community agricultural resource persons, lead farmers, VSLA facilitators and apiculture champions.
- Support establishment, strengthening and monitoring of VSLAs, ensuring good governance and financial literacy.
- Facilitate the creation and promotion of apiculture enterprises, including training, hive management and market access.
- Implement quarterly work plans in close coordination with the Area Manager.
- Document case studies, success stories and activity reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Build and maintain working relationships with Tana River County government departments and other stakeholders.
- Network with partners to optimise programme delivery and represent Concern Worldwide at coordination meetings.

What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract (5 months) with a base salary of KES 150,616 per month plus a 15% housing allowance.
