Project Manager – Unlocking Opportunities (Maternity Leave Reliever)

About the role

The Project Manager will lead Humanity & Inclusion’s activities for the Unlocking Opportunities project in Nairobi. This 4‑month fixed‑term role covers a maternity leave period and focuses on inclusive economic empowerment for youth with disabilities, especially young women.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor interventions that provide business skills, mentorship, financial links and business kits to youth with disabilities.
• Manage project resources, track performance targets and monitor budget burn rates.
• Ensure compliance with Humanity & Inclusion policies and donor requirements.
• Maintain strong partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders.
• Lead a team of officers, providing guidance and oversight to achieve project outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports and documentation for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Experience working on disability inclusion or youth empowerment initiatives.
• Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of the Kenyan context is an advantage.
