Project Officer – ALIGN Adolescent Health & Nutrition

About the role

The ALIGN initiative seeks a Project Officer to support the implementation of adolescent health and nutrition innovations across up to 12 African countries. This two‑year consultancy will work in a hybrid/online mode with occasional travel to target countries, reporting to the ALIGN Project Manager at The Youth Café.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of Technical Support Packages for CSOs and YLOs, including capacity assessments, mentorship, and policy dialogue facilitation.
• Manage the Cross‑Country Community of Practice, coordinating peer‑learning events, knowledge exchange, and documentation of scaling lessons.
• Oversee sub‑grant administration, from proposal review to financial reporting, ensuring compliance with donor and consortium requirements.
• Facilitate engagement between local innovators and government entities to integrate proven solutions into national health systems.
• Prepare regular progress reports, monitoring dashboards, and evidence‑based advocacy materials for consortium partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project management within health, nutrition, or youth‑focused development programmes.
• Familiarity with civil society and youth‑led organisations operating in African contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with ability to travel to multiple countries as needed.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
