Project Officer - Nutrition

About the role

The Project Officer will implement and monitor nutrition activities in emergency programmes, ensuring quality delivery of Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) and related interventions. The role involves close collaboration with health officials, community leaders, and project partners.

Key responsibilities

• Implement nutrition interventions such as IMAM, Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition, Positive Hearth Deviance, Baby Friendly Community Initiatives, Family MUAC, and IMAM Surge.
• Support communities to identify nutrition gaps and develop community‑led solutions.
• Provide technical support to Ministry of Health staff and community health promoters.
• Monitor programme budgets, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with donor and humanitarian accountability requirements.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, document success stories, and contribute to advocacy and fundraising activities.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in maternal, infant and young child nutrition, CMAM/IMAM, and micronutrient supplementation.
• Strong understanding of Ministry of Health systems, nutrition programming models and policies.
• Experience working in an NGO environment and with community groups.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good analytical and reporting skills.
