Psychologist – Department of Psychological Services (10‑month)

About the role

Under direction, the psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, families, and schools within Montgomery County Public Schools. The role involves delivering interventions, assessments, and consultation to support academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and respond to requests for psychological services and provide direct and indirect support to students and families.
• Participate on Collaborative Problem Solving, Educational Management, Section 504, and IEP teams.
• Develop functional behavior assessments and deliver instructional and behavioral interventions.
• Conduct psychological assessments for educational purposes.
• Provide preventive counseling, program consultation, and parent training.
• Collaborate with community agencies and refer families to appropriate resources.

Required profile

• Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for School Psychologist.
• National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) preferred.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged.
• Thorough knowledge of data‑based decision making, consultation models, and strategies to promote social‑emotional functioning.
