About the role
The Psychosocial Support Assistant will work under the guidance of the Education Officer to deliver high‑quality mental health and psychosocial services to refugees in Kakuma. This role supports the planning, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive PSS intervention within the Safe Shelter programme.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and implement psychosocial support activities in line with project objectives.
- Assist in case management, community‑based psychosocial activities and referrals.
- Document interventions, monitor progress and contribute to regular reporting.
- Identify emerging psychosocial needs and ensure confidentiality and safeguarding standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with the MHPSS coordinator, Education Officer and other programme staff.
Required profile
- Ability to work under supervision of the Education Officer and follow programme guidelines.
- Commitment to client‑centred, timely and high‑quality service delivery.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and donor compliance requirements.
- Willingness to work onsite in Kakuma for a fixed‑term contract.
