QA/QC Manager

About the role

We are looking for a QA/QC Manager to lead the quality system on a high‑end building contract in Nairobi. You will own the inspection and test plans, non‑conformance register, concrete testing regime and calibration records, and coordinate hold and witness points with the Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and agree Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for each work package and define hold and witness points.
• Inspect work at all stages – formwork, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork, services and finishes.
• Manage the concrete testing regime, including slump tests, cube sampling and maintaining the cube register.
• Maintain calibration records for site instruments and test equipment.
• Raise, track and close non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and own the NCR register.
• Conduct internal quality audits, run snagging processes and prepare monthly quality reports.

Required profile

• Proactively reject work that does not meet specifications and set quality standards early to avoid rework.
• Collaborate with the site team to find solutions rather than merely blocking progress.
• Recognise high‑end finishes and ensure subcontractors meet the expected quality before work starts.

Required skills

• Preparation and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Definition and management of hold and witness points.
• Concrete testing procedures – slump tests, cube sampling and register maintenance.
• Calibration records management for site instruments.
• Ownership of a non‑conformance (NCR) register and closure of NCRs.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings and method statements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards (advantageous).
