About the role

The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), established under the Kenya National Qualifications Framework Act, is recruiting a Qualifications Database Officer in Nairobi. The Authority coordinates and harmonizes education, training, assessment and quality assurance of qualifications in Kenya and maintains the Kenya National Qualifications Database. The post is in the Qualifications Framework Policy and Registration Directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop documentation of computer programs according to instructions and specifications
• Install and configure computer systems and solutions, and maintain application systems
• Provide end-user support and train users on the effective use of ICT facilities
• Maintain an up-to-date equipment register and issuance register
• Install, configure and monitor Local Area Network components
• Administer users in Active Directory, the e-mail server and user applications
• Update and maintain the Authority's website
• Ensure business continuity through regular data and application backups

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or another relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Entry-level position; experience not specified

What we offer

• Salary scale of KES 54,164 to 72,695 per month
• House allowance of KES 35,000 per month
• Commuter allowance of KES 8,000 per month
• Leave entitlement of 30 days per financial year
• Permanent employment at Grade 6
