Quality Control Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Control Supervisor will lead the inspection and assurance of fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring that all produce meets company and customer standards before dispatch. This full‑time position is based in South C, Westlands, Nairobi and reports to the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming produce for freshness, maturity, defects and compliance with specifications.
• Supervise grading, sorting, washing, packing and storage processes.
• Conduct routine quality inspections across the supply chain and monitor shelf‑life during storage.
• Implement and enforce HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP and GHP standards.
• Train staff on hygiene practices and support audits and certification processes.
• Lead the quality control team, assign tasks, monitor performance and provide coaching.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality performance reports and document corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Food Science & Technology or related field, or a diploma with relevant experience.
• 1–4 years of quality control experience in fresh produce, food processing, agriculture or FMCG.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Preferred certifications: HACCP and ISO 22000.
