Quality Inspector

About the role

The Quality Inspector will ensure that all vehicles, body‑building projects and related components meet the highest standards before delivery. Working within the automotive workshop environment, you will apply engineering knowledge and quality‑management practices to support customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) for new vehicles, verifying bodies, conversions, local components and accessories against manufacturer, NTSA and KEBS guidelines.
• Supervise body‑building activities to minimise lead times and improve service delivery.
• Perform monthly evaluations and grading of external body builders.
• Prepare weekly status reports on body‑building units to monitor delivery schedules and performance.
• Resolve customer complaints related to body work and drive retention.
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing capabilities at body‑building sites.
• Inspect quality of locally sourced components and accessories.
• Maintain a database tracking quality performance of body builders and component suppliers.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or advanced diploma).
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in an automotive workshop, body‑building, or production environment.
• Strong organisational, coordination and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
