Quality Inspector – Vehicle Assembly

About the role

CFAO Mobility Kenya is hiring a Quality Inspector for its Quality Control unit in Thika, reporting to the Quality Engineer. The role ensures the quality of vehicles during assembly by inspecting them at various stages, managing documentation, giving real-time feedback to assembly teams and implementing corrective actions to reduce defects.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect inline and end-of-line assembly and workmanship against OEM specifications, approving or rejecting components and units and documenting defects.
• Print and issue vehicle documentation to the assembly line and make sure check sheets and records are kept in the KVM archives.
• Oversee functional and dynamic tests such as wheel alignment, brake tests and road tests.
• Collect and analyse inspection data and defect rates, maintain records and share daily audit reports, defect reports and WIP reports.
• Provide immediate feedback to assembly teams and prepare daily defect reports for the Quality Assurance Coordinator.
• Identify process improvements, refine inspection check sheets and run root cause analysis on severe or repetitive defects, including internal containment campaigns.
• Follow up on rework and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering (automotive, production or manufacturing engineering preferred).
• Proven experience in vehicle inspections in a busy automobile manufacturing plant.
• At least 2 years of experience in quality control, preferably in vehicle assembly.
• Must be an experienced driver.
• Certification in quality control is a strong advantage.
