Quality Manager – KP (US Navy Program)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Quality Manager – KP to lead the implementation and enforcement of its Quality Management System for a critical US Navy program based on Diego Garcia. The role requires strong leadership, direct communication with senior corporate officials, and on‑site presence during and after government working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and enforce the Contractor’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with contract requirements, policies, and best practices.
• Maintain on‑site presence during regular government hours and be available within two hours after hours when required.
• Oversee quality audits, inspections, and evaluations to confirm adherence to QMS procedures and industry standards.
• Identify non‑conformances, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with project teams to resolve quality issues.
• Report directly to a senior corporate official, preparing detailed summaries of quality activities, findings, and corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor the quality team, guiding them on inspection protocols, QMS compliance, and technical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related scientific field from an accredited institution.
• Current Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) certification or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience developing and enforcing QMS programs on contracts of similar size and complexity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage quality assurance programs and lead multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards and best practices for QMS implementation.
• Cannot serve simultaneously as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
