Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage all cost aspects of building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations through to final figures. You will work closely with the site team to minimise costs while delivering value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender and contract documents, including Bills of Quantities.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate material, time and labour costs.
• Perform cost analysis and control for projects across all sites.
• Carry out regular site supervisory visits to monitor execution.
• Manage project planning, monitoring, evaluation and risk/value management.
• Prepare and analyse costing for tenders and advise on contractual claims.
• Assist the Contracts Engineer with tender estimates and represent the company on pre‑tender site visits.
• Evaluate prices/costs of variations and maintain records of calculations.
• Ensure compliance with QSHE procedures and report site activities to the Technical Manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Higher Diploma in Building Construction.
• Formal training or qualification in project management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within large public or private organisations.
• Strong budget handling and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
