About the role
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager for Africa. Reporting functionally to the Director of the Human Resources Management Department in Geneva and administratively to the Regional Director, the incumbent will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the African region.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure consistent application of global HR policies, regulations, standards and processes throughout the region.
- Strengthen compliance, safeguarding and adherence to IFRC’s zero‑tolerance policies.
- Support global workforce planning, recruitment prioritisation and talent management for the region.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of global HR policies as a member of the Global HR Management Team.
- Collaborate with regional and national societies to align HR practices with IFRC’s strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Human Resources Management or a related field, or a combination of a university degree and extensive relevant experience.
- Proven experience in senior HR leadership roles, preferably in international or humanitarian contexts.
- Ability to operate under a dual reporting line and work across multiple countries.
