Regional Programme Specialist – Climate Displacement (RE2CLID)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Regional Programme Specialist to lead the implementation of the Regional Responses to Climate Displacement (RE2CLID) programme across Sub‑Saharan Africa. Reporting to the Regional Deputy Director for Operations and working closely with the Regional Director, Managing Missions and the Global Office in Brussels, the specialist will ensure strategic and technical coordination of programme activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate regional implementation of RE2CLID, ensuring timely, coherent and informed decision‑making.
• Lead planning and execution of regional activities, stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
• Identify and mobilise additional resources to amplify impact and sustainability of initiatives.
• Engage regularly with the European Commission on programme strategy, participate in Regional Steering Committees and provide high‑level guidance.
• Ensure alignment with donor requirements and IOM project management policies, including financial, HR, reporting, visibility and risk management.
• Develop and promote harmonised systems, procedures and tools for planning, implementation and monitoring, and provide capacity‑building support to missions.
