Relationship Manager – Branch Operations

About the role

The Relationship Manager will lead the Kapsowar branch, driving sponsor engagement, community partnerships and overseeing local micro‑finance programmes. This full‑time position ensures high standards of customer service, compliance and business development for VisionFund Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Implement credit risk policies, conduct client assessments, and oversee loan approvals while ensuring compliance with KYC, AML and data privacy regulations.
• Supervise and develop branch staff, conduct performance appraisals, coaching and maintain high morale and retention.
• Achieve financial targets, maintain Portfolio at Risk below 5%, and lead business development and community outreach initiatives.
• Utilize core banking systems, digital field applications and MIS platforms to monitor loan origination, disbursement and collections.
• Develop and adjust the branch business plan, maintain relationships with local leaders, faith institutions and strategic partners.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Minimum three years experience in micro‑finance or retail banking operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching and team‑building abilities with excellent communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of credit operations, compliance, fraud prevention and internal controls.

Required skills

• Core banking system proficiency.
• Experience with digital field applications.
• Use of Management Information System (MIS) platforms.
