Remote C# Developer (Freelance Contractor)

About the role

Turing is seeking an experienced software engineer at a tech‑lead level to help build and evaluate large‑language‑model (LLM) datasets for realistic software engineering tasks. The role is fully remote and focuses on automating development environments, triaging GitHub issues, and assessing test coverage and code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and triage issues from trending open‑source GitHub repositories.
• Set up and configure code repositories, including Dockerization and environment provisioning.
• Evaluate unit‑test coverage and overall code quality.
• Modify and run codebases locally to measure LLM performance in bug‑fixing scenarios.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to select challenging repositories and issues.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on project tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#.
• Hands‑on experience with Git and Docker.
• Ability to navigate and understand complex codebases.
• Comfortable running, modifying, and testing real‑world projects locally.
• Experience with open‑source contributions or evaluation is a plus.
