Remote Real Estate Accountant

About the role

You will be the financial backbone of a fast‑growing international real‑estate development business. Working remotely, you will support decision‑making and company expansion through accurate property and corporate finance accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage trust accounts, ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
• Oversee rent collections, delinquency tracking, and security deposits.
• Process accounts payable for vendors, utilities, and other expenses.
• Prepare owner distributions and statements.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations across all accounts.
• Improve accounting workflows as the portfolio grows.
• Support tax reporting (1099s) and coordinate with external CPA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5+ years of general accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience in real‑estate or property‑management accounting (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and a growth mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi, or similar property‑management platforms.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of trust accounting and real‑estate regulations.
