Repairs Technician

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating across the East African region. On behalf of its client, it is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced Repairs Technician to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The jobholder ensures swap stock availability by repairing and testing the client's faulty products returned to the warehouse, including smartphones and other accessories.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze components of client products such as smartphones
• Screen and quality-check faulty devices to identify failure reasons
• Repair client products using hand tools and power tools
• Keep technical knowledge up to date, especially on new products and fault codes
• Test and inspect repaired products to spot potential future failures
• Refurbish and make repaired products ready for dispatch to retail outlets
• Maintain repair equipment, diagnose problems and recommend repairs or replacements
• Record data accurately on repaired units, fault codes and resolutions
• Carry out periodic cycle counts and monthly stock counts
• Follow Kaizen 6S principles and meet daily repair targets

Required profile

• Diploma in electronics engineering or equivalent education
• At least 1 year of professional experience in electronics engineering with relevant repair experience
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems
• Able to communicate technical information verbally and in writing
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure

• Testing and failure analysis systems, tools and procedures
• Desire to learn the required software
• Good interpersonal skills
