About the role
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a motivated intern to support research and report writing for its flagship World Cities Report (WCR). The role is based in Nairobi and will be carried out in a hybrid work mode over a six‑month period.
Key responsibilities
- Support systematic organization of WCR project material for easy reference and knowledge sharing.
- Review WUF13 reports and proceedings to synthesize key discussions for WCR 2026.
- Assist in organizing internal and external post‑launch events, preparing background materials and drafting reports.
- Cross‑check information and referenced sources for accuracy and consistency across post‑launch reports.
- Undertake desktop research to track the impact of WCR 2026.
- Assist in literature reviews, data collection, and qualitative/quantitative analysis for conceptualisation of WCR 2028.
- Provide flexible, ad‑hoc support as assigned by the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members on additional tasks as needed.
Required profile
- Available for a six‑month internship.
- Based in Nairobi, Kenya.
- Willing to work in a hybrid setting.
- Will report to the Chief of the Global Report and Analytics Section.
