Residential Building Caretaker

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Residential Building Caretaker in Ruaka within the real estate and property management industry. The role covers property upkeep, tenant support, basic security monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine checks of the property to spot maintenance issues early and carry out minor repairs such as plumbing leaks, electrical faults, door and window fixes and painting touch-ups.
• Oversee garbage collection and disposal, keep common areas clean and tidy, sweep, mop and disinfect hallways, stairwells, lifts, parking lots and gates, and manage any outsourced cleaning staff.
• Serve as the first point of contact for tenant inquiries, complaints and emergencies, and report concerns to the property manager.
• Monitor the safety and security of the premises, report suspicious activity or hazards, and make sure gates and entrances are locked at designated hours.
• Keep records of maintenance tasks, repairs and incidents, maintain a complaint logbook, and keep an inventory of basic tools and cleaning supplies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a building caretaker or in a similar role.
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Basic handyman skills in plumbing, electrical work and painting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
