Responsible Charge Operator – Water Treatment

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Responsible Charge Operator (ORC) to manage water treatment plants and distribution systems on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, compliant water delivery for a critical U.S. Navy program.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water treatment plants (WTP) and distribution networks in line with CNIC M-5090.1A and other regulations.
• Supervise certified plant operators and technicians, coordinating daily tasks and troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and documentation of water quality, performance and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records, manage water testing reports, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Certified Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator.
• 1‑3 years of experience operating and maintaining water treatment or distribution systems.
• Valid passport with ability to obtain required visas and meet medical/ security requirements.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CNIC M‑5090.1A standards.
• Water quality testing and monitoring.
• Leadership of certified operator teams.
• Ability to perform inspections, troubleshooting and record‑keeping for water systems.
