Retail Sales Officer – Service Station

About the role

The Retail Sales Officer will work full‑time at Green Wells Energies’ service station in Rodi, Kenya. You will be the first point of contact for walk‑in customers, explaining product features, pricing and processing sales of fuel, LPG and lubricants efficiently and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers, provide product information and upsell where appropriate.
• Process fuel, LPG and lubricant transactions using the point‑of‑sale system, handling cash and card payments.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and support fuel‑card customers with account queries.
• Monitor stock levels, ensure product displays meet company standards and report shortages.
• Identify and report any service, safety or HSSE issues to the station supervisor.
• Assist with promotional activities and keep the customer area clean and professional.
• Adhere to all Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a courteous communication style.
• Basic sales, upselling and cross‑selling abilities; knowledge of fuel or LPG products is a plus.
• Numerical accuracy, reliable cash‑handling and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and stand for long periods.
• Certificate or diploma in business, sales, marketing or related field; prior retail or oil‑and‑gas experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
