RISE County Coordinator (Kilifi / Turkana / Bungoma) - 12 Months

About the role

UNICEF Kenya is seeking a qualified consultant to provide time-bound technical and operational support for RISE interventions, which aim to improve access to quality education for children. The consultancy covers the counties of Kilifi, Turkana and Bungoma and runs for 12 months, with an office-based presence in Kilifi / Turkana / Bungoma and travel. The consultant contributes specialized expertise to support the design, implementation, coordination, monitoring, systems strengthening and scale-up of RISE activities, in line with programme objectives, government priorities, UNICEF policies and safeguarding standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Youth/Community Development, Project/Programme Management or a related field
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in education programmes, youth engagement or community-based development
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Experience implementing and coordinating field-level programmes, working with county governments, NGOs and community-based organisations
• Experience working with adolescents, youth or marginalized populations in multi-stakeholder programmes in Kenya

• Gender-responsive and inclusive community engagement and youth mobilization
• Monitoring, data collection and reporting
• Problem-solving and adaptability in field contexts; ability to work independently in remote or resource-constrained settings
• Understanding of safeguarding, PSEA and ethical community engagement
• Desirable: training delivery, facilitation or capacity building; digital/blended learning; knowledge of Kenya's education system; experience with government institutions, UN agencies or development partners
