Sales Engineer – Tools and Welding Department

About the role

The Sales Engineer in the Tools and Welding Department will act as the technical bridge between ATAD East Africa and its customers across the East Africa region. You will guide prospects through the technology evaluation stage, showcase product advantages and ensure a seamless sales experience from quotation to after‑sales support.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed sales targets for the East Africa market.
• Identify, approach and develop new customer relationships to grow market presence.
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals and respond to RFPs, pre‑qualifications and contracts.
• Coordinate the full sales cycle – from inquiry, LPO issuance, deal closure to post‑sale follow‑up.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to both technical and business audiences.
• Provide weekly written reports on sales activities, project status and market trends.
• Collect market intelligence on competitors, pricing and emerging opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, business development or a related technical role.
• Mid‑level professional with a customer‑centric mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical details for diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of welding technology, welding processes and power tools used in metal fabrication.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
