Sales Executive - B2B Advertising & Sponsorship

About the role

A full-time Sales Executive position in Nairobi focused on B2B advertising and sponsorship sales. The role centres on growing revenue by closing advertising opportunities and securing corporate sponsorships for CIO Africa's technology events, roundtables and conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and close advertising opportunities across CIO Africa magazine, website, newsletters and digital platforms
• Secure corporate sponsorships for technology events, roundtables and conferences
• Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
• Build relationships with technology vendors, system integrators, telecom companies and enterprise solution providers
• Manage key accounts and drive repeat business
• Prospect new clients through networking, meetings and industry events
• Develop tailored advertising and sponsorship proposals aligned with client marketing goals
• Work with the marketing and events teams to deliver campaigns
• Track ICT and enterprise technology market trends to spot opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, IT or a related field
• Proven experience in B2B sales, advertising sales, media sales or event sponsorship sales
• Strong lead generation, pitching and deal-closing ability
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Commercial mindset with a track record of exceeding sales targets
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
• Understanding of technology, ICT or enterprise markets is a plus
